Ingredients

    medium carrots, sliced 1/4 inch

  • 3

    tblsp butter

  • 1/4

    cup crumbled cooked bacon

  • 2

    tblsp sliced 1/8 inch green onion

  • 1

    tblsp firmly packed brown sugar

  • 1/4

    tsp salt

  • 1/8

    tsp pepper

Directions

In 2 qt saucepan place carrots; add enough water to cover. Bring to a full boil. Cook over medium heat until carrots are crisply tender (8-12 minutes). Drain; return to pan. Add all remaining ingredients. Cover; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through (5-7 minutes). For microwave: in 2 qt casserole combine 1/2 cup water and carrots. Cover; microwave on high, stirring after half the time, until carrots are crisply tender (6-8 minutes). Let stand 1 minute. Drain; set aside. In same casserole melt butter on high (40-50 seconds). Stir in carrots and all remaining ingredients. Cover; microwave on high, stirring half the time, until heated through (3-4 minutes). Let stand 1 minute.
