Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients
- 6-8 apples, peeled, cored, & sliced
- 3/4 c sugar
- 1/4 c flour
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon + a few pinches
- dash salt
- 2 T butter

Step 1
Make sure you have the right amount of apples, by pre-fitting the sliced apples into your pie pan. Once you have the desired amount of apples, mix together with sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Place pie crust in bottom of pie pan. Place apple mix in pie crust. Dot top of apple mix with pieces of butter. Top with second crust. Pinch crusts together, trim excess dough, and make slits to let steam escape. Cover crust edges with aluminum foil or pie crust protector. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Remove aluminum foil or crust protector. Bake another 20 minutes or until knife inserted into apple filling goes through easily with no resistance.
