Cappuccino Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 12 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 c. half and half, or milk
  • 3 Tb. instant expresso powder, or instant coffee powder
  • 6 oz. imported bittersweet chocolate, (or semisweet chocolate), chopped
  • 6 Tb. brandy
  • whipped cream

Preparation

Step 1

Break 4 cinnamon sticks in half and place in heavy medium saucepan. Add half and half and expresso powder; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Discard cinnamon sticks. Add chocolate and whisk until melted. Mix in brandy. Ladle drink into mugs; top with whipped cream. Garnish each with cinnamon stick.
