Lemon Grits

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup quick-cooking white grits
  • salt and freshly ground white pepper to taste
  • grated zest and juice of 2 or 3 lemons
  • butter to taste
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, or to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Whisk in the grits gradually. Cook over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently.

Season lightly with salt and white pepper. Stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, butter and mascarpone cheese.
