French Apple Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 4 c cubed French bread
  • 1/2 c raisins (optional)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 med apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
  • 1 3/4 c hot water
  • 1/4 c butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 t ground cinnamon
  • 1 t vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Combine bread cubes and raisins in buttered 9inch square pan.

In large bowl, beat eggs; add canned milk, apples, water, butter, cinnamon and vanilla. Pour evenly over bread cubes, moistening completely.

Bake 50-55 min or until knife in center comes out clean. Cool slightly. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
