Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 onions
  • 2 Tbs olive oil
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 3 cans plum tomatoes
  • 5 leaves fresh basil
  • 1 to 2 Tbs sugar (optional)
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Saute chopped onions in large pot. When onions turn color and soften, add tomato paste and mix until paste turns fiery red, 2 to 3 minutes. Add plum tomatoes with basil (tomatoes should be put in blender to be liquefied). Temperature: Simmer on very light boil, about one hour, add sugar according to taste. Freeze leftovers.
