Ingredients
- 4 lbs lean ground beef
- 2 large onions
- 3 banana peppers, seeded and sliced
- 1/4 c chili powder
- 2 T minced garlic
- 1 28oz can diced tomatoes with green chiles, undrained
- 1 can beef broth
- 2 cans diced mild green chiles, drained
- 2 T ground cumin
- 2 T cider or malt vinegar
- 1 to 2 T ground hot paprika
- 1 T dried oregano
- Hot pepper sauce
- Diced avacado and red onion optional
Preparation
Step 1
Brown beef in large skillet or dutch oven over med high heat 6-8 min, stirring to break up meat. Drain fat. Add onions, peppers, chili powder and garlic. Reduce heat to med low. Cook 30 min, stirring occasionally.
Add tomatoes, beef broth, green chiles, cumin, vinegar, paprika, oregano and hot pepper sauce. Cook 30 min, stirring occasioanlly. Garnish with red onion and avacado if desired.
