Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb medium raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • salt
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Marinade
  • 1 c brewed double strength orange spice tea, cooled
  • 1/4 c honey
  • 1/4 c rice vinegar
  • 1/4 c soy sauce
  • 1 T finely chopped fresh ginger
  • 1/2 t ground black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

In plastic bag, combine marinade ingredients. Remove 1/2 c marinade; set aside for dipping sauce. Add shrimp to marinade in bag, turning to coat. Close bag securely and marinate in frig 30 min up to 12 hours.

Remove shrimp from marinade and discard the marinade. Thread shrimp onto 8 skewers, dividing evenly. Grill over med coals 4-6 min or until shrimp turn pink and are just firm to the touch, turning once. Season with salt.

Meanwhile prepare dipping sauce by pouring the remaining marinade in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil 3-5 min or until slightly reduced. Stir in green onions.
