Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon, 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 head of red cabbage, cut into 1/2 inch slices
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 tblsp dark brown sugar
- 1 apple, 1/2 inch chunks
- Salt and pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Cook you're bacon an a large saucepan over medium heat. When crisp add you're onions and cook, stirring occasionally until translucent. Now add you're cabbage, vinegar, wine, sugar and water. Add salt to tast. Cover and cook for 5 minuteson med-high, then reduce heat to med-low and continue cooking for 30 minutes. Now add the apple and continue cooking for about 25-35 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
