Chocolate Chip Cookies (Crisco)

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Crisco
  • 1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsps. milk
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 3/4 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
  • 1 cup coarsley chopped pecans (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375 degrees.

Beat shortening and brown sugar on medium speed until light and fluffly. Beat in milk, vanilla and egg. Stir in flour, salt and baking soda. Blend in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 miuntes for chewy cookies, or 11-13 minutes for crisp cookies. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet. Transfer cookies to cooling rack.

Tip * If nuts are omitted, add an additional 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.
