Homemade Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 2 Lbs stewing beef or left over roast, torn into pieces
  • 1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
  • 4 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 quart water
  • 1 onion, halved
  • 2 stalks celery, cut in thirds
  • 8-10 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4-5 carrots, sliced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/2 cup cool water

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients in crock pot and cover with lid. Cook on high for 6 hours. remove onion halves and celery pieces with about a cup of broth and put into blender. Whiz again to mix well. Pour pureed vegetables back in crock pot. Stir to blend well. Cover and let cook for another 2 hours then serve.
