Bacon and Water Chestnuts with Sweet and Sour Sauce

Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 2 lb. bacon
  • 4 can's whole water chestnuts
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 c. miracle whip
  • 1/2 c. chili sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Cut bacon strips in half- wrap chestnuts and stick with a toothpick. Place in a single layer in a large baking pan. Bake 375@ until crisp, 35-40 min. Turn with a spatula after 20 min. continue baking until crisp. Pour off fat. You can make ahead to this point. About 1 hour before serving mix all ingredients of sauce together and pour over chestnuts. Bake at 350@ until sauce thickens about 20-25 min.
