Lasagna Sauce

This is a thick, flavorful sauce that doesn't run all over. Use on manicotti, lasagna, or baked ziti. I double the recipe when I use it with lasagna.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 6-ounce cans tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/8 cup snipped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil, crushed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cups water
  • Dash ground black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

In a 3 quart saucepan, brown ground beef and drain off fat. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Simmer, uncovered for 15 minutes.
