Ingredients
- Marinara sauce:
- 2 14.5 oz stewed tomatoes
- 1 6oz can tomato paste
- 1 TBS dried parsley
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 TBS olive oil
- 1/2 yellow onion (minced)
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 4 cups chicken broth (or beef) (or water, if no broth available)
- 12 oz frozen mixed veggies
- 8 oz pasta (ditalini)
- 12 frozen meatballs (or 8oz sliced Italian Sausage or chicken)
- 14.5 oz vegetarian broth and garbanzo beans for vegetarian option
- salt & pepper to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare marinara sauce as directed (see recipe).
Combine sauce and broth in large stock pot. Bring to a boil.
Stir in pasta & meat balls. Boil 7-8 minutes until pasta is tender and meat is cooked through.
