Ingredients

  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 3 cups diced apples
  • 1 cup raisins

Step 1

Blend oil and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add salt, soda, vanilla, cinnamon; add flour reserving enough to coat nuts and fruits. Fold in fruit and nuts. Bake in greased tube pan 1 1/2 hours at 325deg.

Combine the following:
3/4 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar

Bring to rapid boil, boiling 2 minutes. Pour over cake (still in pan) while warm. Cool cake before removing.
