Preparation

Step 1

1) Rinse brisket, put in casserole

2) Combine in large bowl:
2 packs dry onion soup (like Knorrs or anything else)
3 cups water
2-3 Tbs Worcestershire
1 chopped onion
2-3 garlic cloves, minced (chop them all up or put in food processor)
1 (16oz) bottle of Ketchup

3) Pour liquid over brisket

4) Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top of brisket. Sprinkle with
garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, and a LITTLE seasoned salt. Add water to cover halfway.

5) Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 2 1/2 hours, until it is almost
tender (Use your hands to make sure it is not rock hard, it should be
a little squishy)

6) Take brisket out of oven and slice meat against the grain

7) Add more juice from pan if necessary

8) Add vegetables

9) Cook 1 1/2 - 2 hours more

10) Take out and loosen foil. Let sit for awhile (until you are ready
to serve, can be served at room temp). Make sure the brisket is VERY
tender, if not, lower heat to 300-325 degrees and keep cooking until
it's so tender that it falls off the fork.
