Chocolate Snicker-Logs

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup pasteurized egg
  • 1 1/3 cup sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • Cinnamon and sugar mixture
  • Powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
Mix shortening, sugar and egg thoroughly.
Sift remaining ingredients together and stir into wet mixture.
Form into 1/2 teaspoon balls, then roll into 1 1/2 inch long logs.
Roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Place 2 inches apart on un-greased baking sheet.
Bake 6 to 7 minutes (they puff up at first, then flatten out.
Cool on wire rack.
Dust with powdered sugar.
Store in covered jar.
