Mexican Lime Chicken Soup

Ingredients

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 (32-ounce) container chicken broth
  • 3 cups cubed cooked chicken
  • 1/3 cup lime juice

Preparation

Step 1

Combine first 6 ingredients in large saucepan. Bring to boil; reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 2 to 3 minutes.

Fried tortilla strips are easy to make and are great topping for this soup and make tasty treat to nibble on, too! Cut 4 (6-inch) corn tortillas into thin strips. Heat oil in large skillet until hot. Add tortilla strips, and fry 3 to 4 minutes or until crisp. Drain on paper towels.
