Ingredients
- Frosting:
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 1/2 tsp poppy seeds
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 cups confectioners' sugar
- 2/3 cup butter, melted
- 6 tbsp milk
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 15x10-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, beat sugar, milk, oil, eggs, vanilla, and almond extract at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, poppy seeds, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to sugar mixture, beating until combined; spoon into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool until slightly warm. Spread frosting over warm cake. Cut into squares to serve.
