Alma's best chocolate chip cookies

Abrams family favorite. Alma makes this recipe weekly for her husband Jim.

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup softened butter
• 1/2 cup shotening
• cream together and add
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup light brown sugar
• 1 small package instant vanilla pudding mix
• Mix well, stirring by hand. Then add 1/2 teas. baking soda
• 1/2 teas. salt
• 1 teas. vanilla and mix by hand
• Then add 2 1/4 cups of flour.
• Mix well then add 1 -16 oz package chocolate chips.
• Drop by cookie dropper on ungreased baking sheet.
• Bake 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes.
• Any flavor of pudding mix or chips/nuts can be added.

Preparation

Step 1

Mix by hand only. Do not use micer.

Alma's red, white and blue cookies substitute the following:
white sugar to replace brown
add white chocolate chips, dried cherries and dried blueberries in place of chocolate chips. White chocolate instant pudding mix in place of vanilla instant pudding.
