Ingredients
- 10 ears corn
- water
- 2-3 tsp. sugar or Splenda
- coarse Kosher salt (optional)
- Fresh ground coarse black pepper(optional)
- Butter (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Soak corn in cold water for 30 minutes. Shuck, remove silks, set aside. Bring 1 qt. of water and sugar to boil in a large pot with tight- fitting lid. Drop corn in boiling water. Begin timing immediately. Allow corn to boil not one second over 4 minutes. Serve immediately with coarse salt and pepper.
Note: 10 ears of corn may be dropped in boiling water, covered, and immediately moved off heat. In about 20 minutes and not before, lift the lid. Ears should be just right.
