Queso Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 lb. ground sirloin
  • 1 lb. (16 oz.) VELVEETA®, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 can (10 oz.) RO*TEL Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies, undrained
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 6 pieces leaf lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, cut into 6 slices

Preparation

Step 1

Heat grill to medium heat.

Shape meat into 6 (1/2-inch-thick) patties. Grill 5 to 6 min. on each side or until done (160ºF).

Meanwhile, microwave VELVEETA and tomatoes in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 5 min. or until VELVEETA is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring after 3 min.

Place burgers on bottom halves of buns; top each with 2 Tbsp. VELVEETA sauce. Cover with lettuce, tomato slices and tops of buns. Refrigerate remaining VELVEETA sauce to use as desired.

[Refrigerate leftover sauce up to 3 days. Then, reheat and serve as a dip with cut-up fresh vegetables or spooned over grilled steaks.}
