Ingredients
- 1 pd. italian sausage, sliced or crumbled
- 1 large onion coarsely chopped
- 1 large garlic clove, minced
- 1 28 ounce can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 8 ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 8 ounces rigatoni or spiral pasta, uncooked
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- parmesan cheese, grated
Preparation
Step 1
In large stockpot, brown sausage. Add onion and garlic. Cook until onion is soft. Stir in tomatoes with juice, tomato sauce, water and pasta. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 25 to 30 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in mushrooms; simmer additional 5 minutes. Garnish with parmesan cheese.
