Quick & Easy Empanadas

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup red pepper (i use "Ancient Sweets"), chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 15 oz. can Manwich (sloppy joe sauce)
  • 1/4 cup pimento stuffed green olives, halved
  • 2 TB seedless raisins
  • Dash of Tabasco
  • 1/2 TB of Mrs Greaux's Hot Pepper Sauce (from St. Kitts - you don't have, add alittle more tabasco or any red pepper sauce)
  • 2 packages of Crescent Rolls

Preparation

Step 1

In saute pan, brown ground beef (turkey), along with garlic over medium heat. Add red peppers, olives, raisins, cumin, and paprika. Mix in Manwich sauce and hot sauces.

Separate crescent dough into 8 rectangles; seal perforations. Spoon a fourth of the meat mixture onto half of each rectangle. Fold dough over filling; pinch edges to seal. Cut slits in tops.

Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
