Salmon Burgers with Asian Flair

Ingredients

  • 6 T toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 T white miso
  • 6 T mirin
  • 2 T shoyu
  • 4 salmon burgers
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 whole grain buns

Preparation

Step 1

To make a sauce:
1. Grind sesame seeds in a spice grinder.
2. Combine w/miso, mirin & shoyu in a bowl & whisk until well mixed.
3. Set aside.

To make burgers:
1. Preheat grill.
2. Remove salmon burgers from refrigerator, spray w/cooking spray & season w/salt & pepper.
3. To create crisscross grill marks, place burger on hot grill in 1 position for 2-3 minutes; then turn so the grill marks cross for an additional 2-3 minutes.
4. Flip burgers & cook an additional 4-5 minutes, until cooked through.
5. Serve on buns w/the miso sauce.
