Hash Brown Potato Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded American or Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 (32 oz) package frozen loose-packed hash browned potatoes, thawed
  • 1 cup corn flakes, crushed
  • 1 Tbs butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

In large mixing bowl, combine shredded cheese, chicken soup, sour cream, onion, 1/4 cup butter, salt and pepper. Mix well. Fold in thawed hash brown potatoes. Turn mixture into a greased 9 X 11 inch baking dish. Toss together the corn flakes and 1 Tbs melted butter. Sprinkle over potato mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour or until casserole is golden brown and potatoes are tender.
