Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
Preparation
Step 1
Mix sugar and butter until creamy. Add in egg and extracts.
Sift together the dry ingredients, stir into the sugar/egg mixture. Refrigerate this dough for 2 to 3 hours.
Divide dough in half and roll out one half at a time* on lightly floured board to about 3/16 inch thickness.
Cut with floured cookie cutter.
Sprinkle with granulated sugar, place on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake at 375°F for 7 to 8 minutes, or until delicately golden.
