Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish: spray with veg oil, line with parchment and spray with oil again. Bring butter, sugar, water, and corn syrup to a boil over medium heat. Stir often, until sugar dissolves. Cook undisturbed, until it reaches 238 on a thermometer. Add pecan pieces, cook stirring, until dark caramel, 6 minutes. Pour into pan and let cool.
