Jolly Bourbon Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 package vanilla wafers (3 cups), finely crushed
  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, divided
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips(6oz)
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup bourbon or rum

Preparation

Step 1

COMBINE crushed wafers, nuts and 1/2 cup powdered sugar in large bowl; set aside.

MELT chocolate with corn syrup in top of double boiler over simmering water. Stir in bourbon until smooth. Pour chocolate mixture over crumb mixture; stir to combine thoroughly. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on waxed paper.

PLACE remaining 1/2 cup powdered sugar in shallow bowl and roll the balls in the sugar. Place in little candy papers and store in airtight containers at least 3 days before serving for flavors to mellow.
