Ingredients
- 1 8 or 9 inch sponge cake
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 6 tablespoons cold water
- 8 eggs, seperated
Preparation
Step 1
Melt chocolate in double boiler. Add sugar and water and remove from heat. Blend in raw beaten egg yolks. Cool. Beat whites til stiff. Fold into chocolate mixture. Line sides and bottom of 10 inch springform pan with pieces of cake. Pour 1/2 chocolate mixture into pan. Add layer cake slices and remaining chocolate mixture. Refrigerate overnight. May top with whipped cream.
