Ingredients
- Can be frozen!! Make ahead. Defrost and spread with cream cheese mixture.
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 lb. dates chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts

Step 1
Line 2 bread pans with brown paper and grease well. I used teflon pan and greased a little. In a bowl, mix boiling water, dates, and butter together and allow to cool. Add baking soda, sugar, flour, vanilla and nuts, stirring until just mixed. Pour into pans and bake 325 degrees oven for 1 hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Slice and spread pineapple cream cheese on it.
Pineapple Cream Cheese Spread
8 ounces cream cheese
1 can (10 1/2 ounce) crushed pineapple well drained.
Sugar to taste.
In bowl beat cream cheese and pineapple together. Add sugar if desired. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
