Ingredients

    boneless skinless chicken breast halves

  • 2/3

    cup catsup

  • 1 1/3

    cups water

  • 1

    tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1/4

    cup vinegar

  • 1

    pinch baking powder

  • 1

    cup flour

  • 1/3

    cup liquid shortening

  • 1/4

    cup brown sugar

  • 1

    teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 2/3

    cup honey

  • Hot pepper sauce to taste

  • Garlic granules to taste

Directions

Combine flour, baking powder, and chicken breasts in bag and shake to coat. Heat shortening over low heat in non-stick skillet. Brown chicken in hot shortening. Combine remaining liquid ingredients in sauce pan and bring to a slow boil, stirring often. Spray oven-proof casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray and arrange chicken breasts in dish. Pour hot sauce over chicken and allow to marinate 1 to 2 hours. Bake at 325 degrees for 60 to 90 minutes. Serve with seasoned rice and vegetable side dish. This recipe yields 4 servings.
