Awesome Armaretto custard filling

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 TB plus 1 tsp. Cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup White sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 4 egg yolks beaten
  • 1 tsp. Almond extract
  • 1 tsp. Armaretto like Disarano liquor

Preparation

Step 1

Mix milk, cornstarch, sugar in a medium sauce pan.
Add water & beaten egg yolks gradually.

Cook over medium heat till thick and bubbly. Stir constantly.
When it gets to the rapid boil(bubbly) cook for one minute longer.
Remove from heat and add almond and Armaretto. Stir using a whisk.
Cover with plastic wrap touching the filling to prevent a film when cooling. Let cool completely. I put mine in the fridge.
