Chili-Mac Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 15 1/2 oz can red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 7 1/2 oz can tomatoes, cut up
  • 1/2 cup elbow macaroni
  • 1 4 oz can diced green chili peppers, drained
  • 2 to 3 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese (2 ounces)

Preparation

Step 1

In a large skillet cook meat and onion till meat is brown. Drain fat. Stir in beans, tomato sauce, undrained tomatoes, uncooked pasta, green chilies, chili powder, garlic salt, and 1/4 cup of water. Cover, simmer 20 minutes, stirring often. Top with cheese. Cover; heat 2 minutes or till cheese melts.
