Ingredients
- 1 pizza dough see notes for recipe
- 1/3 cup pizza sauce or to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- pepperoni
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tablespoon water
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425°, Lightly grease baking pan or use parchment paper
Allow pizza dough to rise 10 - 15 minutes and cut into 4 even pieces
Working with 1 piece at a time, flatten each piece into a 6 - 7 inch circle
Place a heaping tablespoon of sauce over half of the circle, leaving 1/2 inch around the edge
Place 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce
Top with a couple of slices pepperoni
Carefully fold circle in half and seal the edges
Transfer to baking pan
Repeat with remaining pieces of dough
Combine egg and water
Brush egg wash over the top of pizza pockets
Cut 2 slits into each pizza pocket to allow steam to vent
Bake 10-12 minutes until lightly browned
