Ingredients
- Batter:
- 1 cup All-purpose Flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Italian Seasoning or Oregano
- 1/8 tsp Pepper
- 2 Eggs
- 2/3 cup Milk
- Topping:
- 1 lb Italian Sausage, cooked and drained, or 1 cup thinly sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 cup Chopped Onion
- 1 (4 Ounce) Can Mushrooms
- 1 cup Pizza Sauce or Use An 8-ounce Can of Tomato Sauce With 1 or 2 Teaspoons Oregano & 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper, as a substitute
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
Preparation
Step 1
Lightly grease a 12 or 14 inch pizza pan and dust with a little flour or cornmeal. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare batter by completely mixing all batter ingredients. Pour into pan, tilting or spreading so it completely covers the bottom. Arrange toppings over the batter and bake on a lower rack of preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven; drizzle with pizza sauce and top with cheese. Return to oven and cook an additional 10-15 minutes.
Helpful Tips:
The 'crazy' name comes from bubbles that sometimes appear when the crust bakes, but that is OK, it makes it interesting. (I like to shred the cheese myself, instead of buying it pre-shredded.)
