Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • 300 grams prosciutto, coarsely chopped
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cans Scarpone's fire-roasted tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • fresh basil (to taste)
  • black pepper (to taste)

Preparation

Step 1

Saute prosciutto, onions and garlic in good olive oil. Lower heat, cover and cook gently for an hour. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and sugar. Continue cooking for another hour on low heat; party covered and stirring occasionally. Finish with fresh basil and pepper. Serve over pasta. Makes 1 serving.
