Fluffy Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup 7-Up
  • ( I usually add 1-2 tsp white sugar)

Preparation

Step 1

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. Cut in shortening until it resembles coarse meal. Add 7-Up all at once. Stir briskly with a fork, only until evenly moistened. Turn onto floured surface. Knead 8-10 times.

Roll to 3/4 inch thickness. Allow dough to rest a few minutes. Cut and place on sheet. Brush with butter. Cut and place on sheet. Brush with butter. Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes. Very light nd fluffy.
