Sausage And Grits Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 cup quick-cooking grits
  • 1 pound bulk sausage
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Step 1

Cook grits according to the directions on the box. Set aside. Cook sausage in a large fry pan. Remove sausage when done and saute onion and green pepper till tender. Remove from grease and drain well.

Combine grits, sausage, onion and green pepper along with 1 cup of grated cheese. Spoon into lightly greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Sprinkle top with remaining cheese and return to oven for another 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and lightly browned.

This recipe yields 8 servings.
