Cowboy Cookies

Yield: 3 dozen cookies
In addition to the contents of the jar, you will need to add the following ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 teas vanilla extract
Cowboy Cookies
Preheat the oven to 350. In a large bowl, cream the butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Add the contents of the jar, and stir until well mixed. Drop the dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart. bake for 11 to 13 minutes, or until light brown in color. Allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet. Then transfer to wire racks and cool completely. Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Ingredients
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 1/3 cups quick cooking oatmeal
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teas baking soda
- 1 teas baking powder
- 1/4 teas salt
- 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
Preparation
Step 1
1. Wash and thoroughly dry a 1 quart wide mouth canning jar.
2. Layer the ingredients in the ar, pressing firmly after each addition. Make the layers as level as possible.
3. Secure the lid, and decorate as desired. Attach the instructions for making the cookies found below.
