Ingredients

    cup sugar

  • 1/2

    cup butter

  • 2

    eggs

  • 2

    cups flour

    teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2

    teaspoon salt

  • 1

    cup buttermilk

  • 1

    teaspoon vanilla

  • 1

    10 ounce maraschino cherries, drained & chopped

  • 1

    cup pecans, chopped

Directions

Cream together sugar, butter and eggs. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and buttermilk to creamed mixture. Beat until blended. Stir in pecans, cherries, and vanilla. Pour batter into greased 9 by 5 loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes. Remove from pan and cool. Glaze with icing. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
