Ingredients

1 lb butter
2 cups sugar
1 egg
2 cups oatmeal
2 1/2 tsp vanilla
4 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar. Mix in egg. Add remaining ingredients. Chill dough for several hours. Form balls and place on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten slightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
