Hamentaschen

These easy Hamentaschen are perfect for a tasty and festive Purim! Customize by filling with your favorite preserves or poppy seeds and enjoy the light, chewy deliciousness.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp orange juice
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • pinch salt
  • Lekvar or any thick preserves for the filling.

Preparation

Step 1

Mix first five ingredients together until well combined. Gradually add dry ingredients and mix only until blended.

Refrigerate dough and then roll out to 1/4 in thickness. Cut into circles and place filling in the center only. Pinch three parts of the circle of dough together to resemble a three cornered hat and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
