Caramel Candy

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 Tbsp Karo
  • 1 cup carnation milk
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 stick parkay
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Melt 1 cup white sugar. Mix 2 cups sugar, salt, karo, milk and let stand while browning 1 cup sugar. When sugar is almost browned, start cooking milk mixture. When sugar is all browned add to milk mixture. When all mixed, add parkay. Cook with thermometer to soft ball or little more stage. Take off heat and add vanilla. Beat with mixer until thick and not sticky; then beat by hand until ready to pour in pan. Pan should be buttered and nuts added to bottom of pan. Let set halfway then cut into squares.
