Ingredients
- 4 1.5 inch thick boneless New York strip straks (12 oz each) or filets (8-10 oz each), trimmed
- 2 tbsp canola or olive oil
- salt and pepper

Step 1
Remove steaks from fridge about 20 minutes before grilling. Heat grill to high. Brush steaks on both sides with oil and season with salt and pepper. Place steaks on the grill and cook until golden brown and slightly charred, 4-5 minutes. Turn steaks over and continue to grill 3-5 minutes for medium rare, 5-7 minutes for medium, or 8-10 minutes for medium well.
Transfer steaks to cutting board or platter, tent with foil, let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Serve with flavored butter and/or steak sauce. Can season with chili rub before grilling.
