Chocolate Marble Squares

The recipe says to make in a "sheet pan" but it only makes 12 servings. Will have to see how much batter it makes before determining what size pan I could use. May also try to do marbelized cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted

Preparation

Step 1


Prepare sheet pan, preheat oven to 350

Cream together butter, sugar, and vanilla until creamy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Add flour and salt, mix well.

Stir in nuts, if included.

Divide batter into 2 equal parts.

Add cooled chocolate to one part.

Spread yellow mixture across bottom of prepared baking sheet.

Add dollops of chocolate mixture alternately across yellow mixture.

Run knife through batter to marbleize.

Bake 40-45 minutes at 350º.

Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.

Add Southern Caramel Icing or your favorite icing.
