Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp whole wheat panko breadcrumbs
  • 8 oz jumbo lump crabmeat, picked overy for cartilage
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • dash hot sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 Tbsp canola oil

Preparation

Step 1

1. In large bowl, gently mix together bread crumbs, crabmeat, egg, mayaonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot scauce, salt and pepper. Mixture will be wet.

2. Form scant 1 tablespoon scoops of mixture and flatten into patties.

3. Heat oil in large nonstick pan over medium heat. Gently slide cakes off spatula into oil. Saute until cakes are golden brown and cooked through, about 1 1/2 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
