Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • BREAD
  • 7-8 cups flour
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 butter or shortening
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 eggs
  • FILLING
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Mix 2 cups flour and yeast. Heat and stir milk, sugar,

shortening and salt till warm. Add to flour mixture;

add eggs. Beat at low speed for 1/2 minute. Beat 3

minutes at high speed. Stir in as much of the

remaining flour as you can mix in with a spoon.

Knead in enough of the remaining flour to make a

moderately stiff dough.

Knead till smooth (6 to 8 minutes). Shape into a ball.

Place in a greased bowl; turn. Cover; let rise till

double

(45 to 60 minutes). Punch dough down; divide in

fourths.

Cover: let rest 10 minutes. Roll each into a 12 x 8 -

inch

rectangle. Brush with melted butter. Mix brown sugar

and cinnamon together and sprinkle over butter.

Roll up, seal and slice. Place in greased pans. Bake at

375 degree oven for 18 to 20 minutes. Frost is desired
