Ingredients

  • Brown Sugar Base:

  • 3/4

    cup butter

  • 2

    cups flour

  • 1/2

    cup packed brown sugar

  • Filling:

  • 4

    eggs

  • 2

    & 1/2 cups packed brown sugar

  • 1/4

    cup melted butter

  • 3

    tbsp apple cider vinegar (white will work to)

  • 1

    tbsp vanilla

  • 1

    tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1

    cup of raisins or pecans or walnuts or currant or chocolate chips or nothing at all, whatever is your choice. I choose to use nothing.

Directions

Mix the first three ingredients in a mixing bowl until crumbly. Press into greased 9"x13" pan that is lined with parchment paper, leaving the ends long enough to be able to lift the squares out of the pan to make it easier to cut them. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-13 minutes (I baked mine for 13 minutes) or until light golden brown. Beat eggs and brown sugar together with a whisk until well blended. Stir in remaining ingredients. Mix well. Pour over the base. Bake 30 to 45 minutes or until set and golden. Let cool and cut into squares.
