Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cake flour (or 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons double-acting baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2/3 to 3/4 cup buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Cut butter into dry ingredients. Add buttermilk. (DO NOT OVERMIX) After lightly mixing, turn the dowgh onto a floured board. Kean ti light for 1/2 minute. Pat th edough to the thinkess of 1/4 inch. Cut with a biscuit cutter. Bake 10-12 miuntes.
